Hong Kong Dark Report: November 2024

 

The Hong Kong Dark Report is a tool to help the buy side understand and navigate the Hong Kong market structure on a per stock basis. The report highlights dark market data points including dark % of turnover and trends, dark trade sizes, block turnover and statistical highlights, amongst others. 


 
  • HSCI names had the least dark activities in rolling 12 months. Only 1.3% of total market turnover, down -31%

  • The significant fall was primarily caused by Cons. Discretionary names (-36% MoM) and Industrials (-34% MoM). Both dropped to new record lows

  • Utilities sector overtook Cons. Discretionary sector this month led by dark vol in 1381.HK Canvest Environment

  • 1381.HK Canvest Environment dark turnover was observed to grow on a monthly basis during past five months

  • Out of the Top House names, 1665.HK Pentamaster was the highest (1180% ADV) , followed by Crystal International 2232.HK (162% ADV) and Link Reit 823.HK (130% ADV)  

  • Note that 1665.HK Pentamaster trading suspended December 4th, pending the release of an announcement in relation to certain inside information of the Company
