Liquidnet kids for kids: Teaching the value of giving back to the next generation

Each year since 2005, we invite the children in the Liquidnet community to create a drawing inspired by the spirit of the holiday season. We feature the best drawing on our holiday card and publish the collected artwork in a book we send to all the participants, along with a GlobalGiving charitable gift card so that the kids can support a noteworthy organization of their choice.

We’re always blown away by the creativity and thoughtfulness behind the submissions. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege to receive thousands of drawings and facilitated tens of thousands in charitable giving.

So what inspired this tradition?

Liquidnet is a technology-driven, global institutional investment network that connects the world’s investors to the world’s investments.

It’s also a place where we believe that companies have a clear responsibility to create a more inclusive and sustainable world. We believe in giving back and teaching that value to the next generation.

Through the Liquidnet kids for kids program, we hope to give the children of the Liquidnet community an opportunity to reflect on what it means to have a meaningful impact, while using their imagination and artistic skills. Building a better world starts with us and our families.

For 2020, amidst a year of uncertainty and unprecedented challenges, our theme was: “In a year like no other, what are you most thankful for?”

This year’s winning drawing is “Heroes don’t wear capes”, a masterpiece by Luna (age 11) from London, UK. We’re so proud of her powerful message. She won a $250 GlobalGiving charitable gift card to support the charitable project of her choice. All other participants received a $50 GlobalGiving gift card.
